Gertrude “Renee” Irene Pryor Kniess

Gertrude “Renee” Irene Pryor Kniess, 80, of Fairchance, Pa., formerly of Prospect, passed away Tuesday at Uniontown Hospital.

Born Sept. 30, 1935, at her home in Rose Point, Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Edna Rodgers Pryor.

While living in Prospect, she enjoyed being a member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved bingo, playing cards and making crafts.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Stelter of Ellwood City, Pamela (Thomas) Kniess Cox of Fairchance, Pa., Barbara (Dennis) Kreutz of Transfer, Pa., and Randall (Kathy) Kniess of Unionville, Pa.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ethel Jones of Connoquenessing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Kniess; her great-grandson Tarrinn Sub; and her sister, Mary Margaret Pryor Stelter.

KNIESS — Visitation for Gertrude “Renee” Irene Pryor Kniess, who died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home.Additional visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Raisley Funeral Home with the Rev.
