George L. Sefton
George L. Sefton, 92, of Saxonburg passed away Friday at the Saxony Health Center.
Born Nov. 12, 1922, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of the late Clarence D. and Dorothy (Ringer) Sefton.
George was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a truck driver in the 204th anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) battalion.
He worked for Allegheny Ludlum and while working there, he went on to Rosedale Technical School, where he received his degree in mechanics.
He went on to work as a mechanic for Jack's Auto Sales and Wick Implement. He also worked for Bauman's Bus Company and Computaline as a mechanic. George started his own business, Sefton Portable Axel Surgeon.
He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the U.S. Coast Guard auxiliary, the Saxonburg Fireman's Auxiliary and the Sunset Riders. George was the Little League manager of the Yankees and then the Rens from 1955 until 1963. George enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, boating and riding his Harley.
Surviving are his sons, Jerry Sefton of Cabot and Alan (Linda) Sefton of Butler; his daughter, Rae Ann (Donald) Silleman of Simpsonville, S.C.; his grandchildren, Holly, Dana, Karen, Ryan, Shawna, Shannon, Sharyn, Glenn, Paul, June, David, Amy and Lori; his great-grandchildren, Ashley, Aiyana, Kelly, Cameron, Keara, Riley, Allyson, Maddie, Abby, Andrew, Braden, Jade, Nya, Andrew and Emily; his great-great-grandchildren, Lucas and Dominic; and his brother, Glenn Sefton of Saxonburg.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Mae Sefton, who passed away May 5, 2014; and his brother, David Sefton.
SEFTON — Friends of George L. Sefton, who died Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Saxonburg, with the Rev.
