Chester Sikora

Chester F. “Chet” Sikora, 84, of Butler passed away Friday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born April 8, 1931, in Munhall, Chet was the son of the late Chester F. and Marie Babiak Sikora.

Chet was an engineer for the city of Butler for 20½ years.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Korea during the Korean conflict.

He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a master's degree in engineering.

Chet was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Butler. He was also a member of Elks Lodge 170, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

He loved to travel and to take trips to the casino. Chet was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan.

Chet is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose Marie Kapina Sikora; three daughters, Maria Chvala and her husband, Jim, of Bellefonte, Pa., Elaine Ash and her husband, Mike, of Forest Hills, Pa. and Joanne Ciamacco and her husband, Chuck, of Kennedy Township, Allegheny County; and one son, Chester A. Sikora and his wife, Karen, of Dayton, Nev.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Sarah Heath and her husband, Matt, Christopher Sikora, Angela Sikora, Abby Sikora, Alexis Chvala, Amanda Ash, Ryan Ash, Zachary Ciamacco and Natalie Ciamacco.

He was preceded in death by twin grandsons, Chester and Anthony Sikora.

SIKORA — Friends of Chester F. “Chet” Sikora, who died on Friday, Oct. 10, 2015, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by V.F.W. Post 249 of Butler and American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora.St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at the church on Monday at 9:30 a.m. to recite the rosary.The family requests memorial donations to Butler Catholic School, 515 E.
