Mary Jane Joseph
Mary Jane Joseph, 75, of New Castle passed away Wednesday evening at the Avalon Nursing Center.
Born April 7, 1940, in Scranton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Stroukin Rutkoski.
On June 17, 1961, she married her beloved husband, George (Nipper) Joseph, and the two spent over 25 years together until he preceded her in death Jan. 12, 1987.
An avid sports fan, Mary loved watching Pittsburgh teams, was a skilled bowler and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children, Lori Grippo and her husband, Mike, and Lisa Joseph and her husband, Robert Michael, all of New Castle; her sister, Elizabeth Schultz of Butler; her grandchildren, Hannah Grippo, Jacob Grippo, George Joseph, Amber Metz, Elizabethann Metz and Joshua Metz; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Rutkoski.
JOSEPH — Visitation for Mary Jane Joseph, who died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Homeand Crematory, 941 S. Mill St., New Castle.Blessing services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Frank Almade.
