Sandra A. Friel

Sandra A. Friel, 73, of East Brady died Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 27, 1942, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Milton H. and Marie G. (Wenzel) Schran.

On Aug. 6, 1960, Sandy married Charles H. Friel, and he survives.

A 1960 graduate of North Allegheny High School, Sandy worked at grocery stores in East Brady. In 1988, she attended Kittanning Beauty School and retired from hair dressing in 2004.

Sandy loved to travel and spend winters in Myrtle Beach. She loved the ocean, swimming and water skiing, looking for good deals at flea markets, crafting and bowling. Above all, she dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

A member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, Sandy helped with church dinners, parties and bingo.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Chuck Friel of East Brady; one son, Chuck and his wife, Nina, Friel of Bradys Bend; and four grandchildren, Kole, Kaden, Kaitlyn and Shea Friel.

Sandy also is survived by one brother, Milton, and his wife, Darlene, Schran of Karns City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.

FRIEL — Friends of Sandra A. Friel, who died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.A blessing service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.
