Dernetta Ann “Dee” Nelson, 68, of Redwood Road, Karns City, passed away early Friday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Dernetta was born in Sewickley on Feb. 17, 1947. She was the daughter of Edward Mullen and Margaret Dillon Mangelli.

Before retirement, Dee had been employed as a grocery store manager.

She enjoyed the company of family and friends and was especially fond of her dog, Iggy.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas E. Nelson, who she married in Las Vegas, Nev., on Dec. 5, 1991. Also surviving are three sons, Paul Bojanac, John Bojanac and Chad Bojanac as well as a number of grandchildren.
