Charles “Chuck” T. Williams Jr.
Charles “Chuck” T. Williams Jr., 89, a lifelong resident of Evans City, passed away peacefully Sunday at his home.
Born June 2, 1926, in Forward Township, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Jennie Rebecca Baer Williams.
Charles was a World War II Navy veteran, who proudly served his country in the Pacific.
He always found a way to stay busy. Whether it was doing volunteer work for the local parish church, St. Matthias, or working at home in his garden or woodworking. He was a skilled craftsman and was always willing to help a friend, neighbor or stranger in need. Charles was a member of the VFW Post 499 in Evans City and a member of the AARP in Mars.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence Williams; his daughters, Bernice Williams-Castle (Ted), Charlene Smith (Steven) and Deborah Williams; his granddaughters, Kristy Smith (Jim Stewart) and Megan Smith (Mark Hawes); and his sister, Cora Stevick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson; one sister; his stepsisters; and his stepbrothers.
WILLIAMS — Friends and family of Charles Williams Jr., who died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 417 E. Main St., Evans City, with the Rev. Michael Roche as celebrant.He will be laid to rest with military honors at the Evans City Cemetery.At the conclusion of services at the graveside, all are invited to join the family at Ritzert Hall for a luncheon in Charles' honor.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his honor in support of the Evans City VFW Post 499, 408 N.
