Patricia M. Dombart
Patricia M. Dombart, 78, of Butler passed away Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born May 15, 1937, in Philadelphia to the late Joseph McDaniel and Joan (Branton) McDaniel.
Patricia was a 1955 graduate of Hallahan High School, Philadelphia. She attended Chestnut Hill College, Slippery Rock University and the University of Pittsburgh, earning a doctorate from Pitt.
Patricia was the assistant superintendent in the Butler School District, retiring in June 2000. She was pleased to support teachers and students and was especially proud of her efforts with early childhood literacy.
Patricia was a member of the St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. She strengthened the community in which she lived through service with Catholic Charities, the Butler Library Board and the Mental Health Association Board. She was a member of her book group, bridge club, literary society and golf league. She enjoyed family, reading, movies and travel.
Mrs. Dombart is survived by her husband, Donald R. Dombart, who she married in 1978; one son, Kevin W. Smith of Beaver, Pa.; one daughter, Colleen Smith and her husband, Kevin Neigh, of Butler; one stepson, Scott Dombart and his wife, Jane; three stepdaughters, Kim Greco and her husband, Joe, Lori Kress and Jill Fulkerson; six grandchildren, Caitlin Schohl and her husband, Kevin, Emily Fitzpatrick and her husband, Adam, Maura Smith, Kathleen Smith, Liam Neigh and Aidan Neigh; nine step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; three nieces, Melissa Rooney Hunter, Allison McDaniel Schuring and Megan McDaniel Cook; one nephew, Brian Rooney; one daughter-in-law, Amy Vavro; one sister-in-law, Peggy McDaniel; one brother-in-law, Mike Rooney; and the Branton cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Rooney, and her brother, Joe McDaniel.
DOMBART — Friends of Patricia M. Dombart, who died Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Harry R.
