Harmony sets holiday marketHARMONY — Harmony Museum’s biggest regional attraction, WeihnachtsMarkt, a German-style Christmas Market, will be Nov. 14 and 15.The annual fundraiser celebrates the historic community’s German roots while showcasing vendors, entertainment and refreshments.Market hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.The museum’s Christmas Giving Tree will be lighted at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.Admission of $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, $3 for students, and free for children under 6 provides all-day access to the market, entertainment, the museum including on-loan Nativities, and historic district wagon rides. Event proceeds support museum operations.
Middle school stages musicalJACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley Middle School students will present the musical “The Lion King, Jr.” at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 in the intermediate high school auditorium.Tickets are for reserved seating and are $10. A lot going on at symphonyButler County Symphony news includes its annual house tour, a school program and an award announcement.The 26th annual Holiday Tour of Homes will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5. This is a self-guided tour. Tickets are $20 in advance and on the day of the tour, and tickets include admission into the Maridon Museum.The symphony also will present educational outreach programs for kindergarten through fourth-grade students in the Butler, Slippery Rock, Karns City and Mars school districts Nov. 4 to 6. And symphony volunteer A.
