Carolyn Jean Book, 76, of Butler passed away Saturday at her home.

She was born Sept. 15, 1939, in Butler, the daughter of the late Henry Braden and Norma (Shakley) Kiser.

Carolyn was a member of the Faith United Presbyterian Church and was a 1958 graduate of Butler High School. Until her illness, she and her husband, Jacque, enjoyed traveling and helping others.

Surviving are her husband, Jacque L. Book, who she married Oct. 20, 1962; three daughters, Brenda (Ron) Gallagher of Nashville, Ind., Ann (Brian) Brown of Butler and Holly (Brent) Piccola of Butler; her son, Randy Book of Butler; five grandchildren, Gretchen (Justin) Austad of Elwood, Ind., Caroline Piccola, Jacob Book, Natalie Brown and Abigail Book, all of Butler; her great-grandson, Jackson Austad; four sisters, Velma Blain, Isabell Bacher, Cleo (Ron) Baxter and Viola Yartz, all of Butler; her brother, Paul (Renie) Kiser of West Sunbury; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

BOOK — Friends of Carolyn Jean Book, who died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Don Aull, officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carolyn to the Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N.
