Commissioners candidates spending less now than in spring
Candidates for Butler County commissioner generally have spent less money running in the Nov. 3 election than they did in the May primary.
Republicans Leslie Osche and Kim Geyer, Democrats Jerry Johnston and Kevin Boozel, and the Green Party’s Michael Bagdes-Canning are competing for the three county commissioner seats.
Osche and Boozel are the top two spenders this fall with Osche’s campaign spending $8,817 and Osche herself spending $5,858. Boozel’s campaign has spent $13,927.
Geyer has spent $5,549.
Johnston has spent $3,559.
Bagdes-Canning’s report was not available Friday afternoon. Friday was the deadline for candidates to turn in their campaign finance reports.
It was in the spring when the candidates spent the most money.
During the pre-Election Day reporting period for the primary which ended May 4, Osche raised $26,915 and spent $21,575, as well as $8,000 of her own money. Geyer raised $23,800 and spent $19,487, as well as $16,500 of her own money
Johnston raised $5,327 and spent $8,056 at that time, and Boozel raised $6,772 and spent $6,322.
Bagdes-Canning did not run in the primary.
