Suspect had quit as pastor
EAST BRADY, Clarion County — A youth pastor accused of sexually assaulting a teenager has not worked at the church the teenager attended for more than three months.
The East Brady Baptist Church released a statement Thursday that said David T. Pesci resigned from his position July 5.
“We continue to pray for everyone involved in this situation, knowing that the grace and healing power of God are always at work among the hurting,” the statement read.
Pesci, 24, of East Brady allegedly kissed and fondled a teen girl — a member of his youth group at the East Brady First Baptist Church — on three occasions beginning last year.
New Bethlehem police arrested him Monday, and he was arraigned by District Judge Jeffrey Miller on three felony counts of sexual assault by a volunteer or employee of a nonprofit organization and corruption of minors.
He remains free on $10,000 bail.
According to police, Pesci kissed the teen on three occasions. The teen also accused Pesci of sexually touching her at a park in August, police said.
