JFK expert set to speak

Douglas Horne
Conspiracy theory held

SLIPPERY ROCK — An author, investigator and government analyst will give a lecture next week at Slippery Rock University on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Douglas Horne will present “The JFK Medical Evidence: Inadmissible at Trial?” at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 in Spotts World Cultures, Room 111.

Horne served as the chief analyst for military records on the assassination records review board convened by Congress in 1992. He works for the U.S. Department of State.

He has published two books on the government investigation into the assassination in an attempt to reveal a government conspiracy and cover up.

In 2009, he published “Inside the Assassination Records Review Board: The U.S. Government’s Final Attempt to Reconcile the Conflicting Medical Evidence in the Assassination of JFK” and last year he published “JFK’s War with the National Security Establishment: Why Kennedy was Assassinated.”

He has also appeared on the History Channel and other television programs.

Horne is being brought to campus by history professor Thomas Pearcy, whose has taught a class on the JFK assassination five times since 2003. The class is an elective available to students of any major.

Pearcy said Horne offers an insider’s perspective on the Kennedy assassination and a possible conspiracy by the U.S. government to tamper with evidence.

“Based on his knowledge of these events, Mr. Horne contends that information surrounding the president’s body have been purposefully manipulated and/or concealed to mislead the public regarding what really happened to the president,” Pearcy said.

The SRU history, criminology and criminal justice, political science programs and the Honors Program are sponsoring the event.

The free lecture is open to the public.
