A. Cathy Leone

A. Cathy Leone, 78, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice following a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 7, 1937, in Butler, a daughter of the late Michael M. Steele Sr. and Alice D. (Hanlon) Steele.

She attended Saint Paul's School and was a graduate of Butler High School in 1955.

Cathy was a homemaker, who was formerly employed at Taper's Jewelers and R.O. Solkovy and Associates.

She was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Cathy was a former chairwoman and vice-chairperson of the Butler Transit Authority. She enjoyed antiques and she was an avid golfer.

She is survived by one son, Frank F. Leone of Butler; one sister, Anna M. “Marge” Travaglio of Butler; one brother, Michael M. Steele of Hooker; one brother-in-law, Dominick R. Leone and his wife, Gretchen, of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; her mother; her husband, Frank E. Leone, who passed away Dec. 10, 2014; and her stepmother, Katherine V. “Kay-Dee” Steele.

LEONE — Friends of A. Cathy Leone, who died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul Church.
