Glade Run Lake will be catch-and-release
MIDDLESEX TWP — Rocco Ali, the District 2 Commissioner for the state Fish and Boat Commission, announced at the Glade Run Lake ground breaking ceremony Thursday that once the drained lake is refilled, fish will be given time to take hold in the new waters.
Ali said weather permitting, the lake should reopen on the first day of trout season in 2017.
He said until the commission deems the fish population stable, fishing will be catch-and-release at the lake. He said the catch-and-release status would last for at least 2½ years.
More than 200 fish habitats are being added to the lake to improve the surroundings for the lake’s sport fish and other creatures. Deeper channels also will be dug to promote stability for fish.
