Robert Bleicher

Robert Charles Bleicher, 81, of Butler passed away Sunday surrounded by his extended loving family at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 22, 1934, in Northeast, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles Bleicher and Mercedes (Keiser) Bleicher.

He was raised in Northeast, Pa., and Conneautville, Pa., and was a 1952 graduate of Conneaut Valley High School. He grew up on a dairy farm and applied this background to professions as a milk tester and associate with Farm Credit/AG Choice. He finished his professional career as an agent with AFLAC Insurance.

He served as a 4-H leader in Meadville and Butler, assisted the Butler County Junior Livestock Sale for 34 years and was extremely proud to be a PA 4-H Centennial three-generation 4-H family.

Family and church were the center of his life. He attended St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church and was a choir member for 51 years. He served on the Pastoral Council, was a member of the Mens Club, and was a dedicated volunteer for the parish fish fries.

He greatly enjoyed sharing his extensive hobbies of fishing, hunting, golf, and playing bean bags with his children, grandchildren and numerous close friends and was happiest whenever family gathered.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Mary (Austin) Bleicher; six children, Bonnie Gould of Butler, Ed (Donna) Bleicher of Butler, Lori (John) Braszo of Aspinwall, Bev (Gary) Karns Jr. of Butler, Tammy (Eric) Schultheis of Butler, and Tom Bleicher and his companion, Rose Bergbigler, of Butler; nine grandchildren, Glennda and Wesley Gould, Ben (Jamie) Bleicher, Alexis (Josh) McNamara, Rachel (Chris) Tritch, Samantha Karns (Kim Sico), Shane Schultheis, Erica Schultheis and her fiancé, Tim Lutz, and Lynsey Bleicher and her fiancé, Travis Frenchak; great-grandchildren, Trevor Wideman, Michael Garth, Brooke Tritch, Drew Tritch, Brady Bleicher and Henry McNamara.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Wachowiak, and his brother, Gerald Bleicher.

BLEICHER — Friends of Robert Charles Bleicher, who died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
