VA builders request tax increment financing
The developer of the VA Butler Healthcare center in Center Township wants to use a big portion of its property tax payment to pay for property improvements.
Known as tax increment financing, or TIF, developer Cambridge Healthcare Solutions presented the proposal to the Butler school board Monday night.
The proposal calls for 80 percent of its total $467,000 tax bill to go to the construction of roads and other infrastructure improvements on the site along Duffy Road.
The board took no action.
The proposal also would have to be approved by the township and county before it could be implemented.
