Mary Lou (Morgan) Neff, 85, a resident of the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, passed away Wednesday.

Born Aug. 12, 1930, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Ferd and Anna Marie (Tack) Morgan.

Mary Lou was a 1942 graduate of Lorain High School and earned her bachelor's degree in education from Wittenberg University. The following year, she earned her master's degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Mary Lou taught for 36 years, primarily in the New Kensington-Arnold School District.

She participated in sports, gardening, reading, service clubs and the First Evangelical Lutheran Church ministries and synod ministries.

In 2003, she moved to the Passavant Retirement Community and actively served on the advisory committee and was a member of the Seaman Memorial Church Council until the time of her passing.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving son, David Neff, and his wife, Kerri, of Orrtanna, Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Ralph Neff, who passed away June 27, 1986.

NEFF — The family of Mary Lou Neff, who died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, welcomed friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 11 a.m. today at the Seaman Memorial Chapel at the Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, with the Rev. Dr. Donald B. Green presiding and with the Rev. Ralph Fogal, the Rev. Reinhold Weber and Sister Mildred McCracken, assisting.She will be laid to rest at the Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Lutheran World Hunger Domestic Relief, c/o Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063, the Lutheran Senior Life Foundation, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063 or Glade Run Lutheran Services, 70 W.
