SAXONBURG — St. Luke’s Lutheran Church will host an Oktoberfest from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at Centennial Hall, 110 State St.

A choice of German bratwurst, hot dog or chicken dinners will be available. There also will be a basket drawing.

Oktoberfest tickets are available at St. Luke’s or at the door for a donation. Proceeds will benefit the educational support fund for the Steiner family.

[naviga:h3]Quilt show set at Camp Lutherlyn[/naviga:h3]

PROSPECT — The Woodland Quilters will host its annual quilt show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 at Camp Lutherlyn, 500 Lutherlyn Lane.

There will be demonstrations, a vendor mall, an auction, dream baskets, raffle quilts, “make it and take it” projects and a craft rummage table. Lunch will be available.

The Lutherlyn Campership Fund will receive the show proceeds.

There will be two free Medicare presentations Oct. 20 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 107 Sunnyview Circle, at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the activity room.

Brittany Buzzelli, Medicare specialist of the Butler County Area Agency on Aging will be the speaker.

The Hill Youth Chorale will hold a fundraising rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

[naviga:h3]Chicora center hosts craft day[/naviga:h3]

CHICORA — There will be a craft and vendor day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Frogtown Community Center, 381 Kaylor- Frogtown Road.

The day will feature 20 crafters and vendors, baked goods and a basket raffle. Lunch will be available.

[naviga:h3]Alameda puts on ‘Trick‘n Treats’[/naviga:h3]

Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host Alameda Park Trick’n Treats at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the park, 184 Alameda Park Road.

The program will include a scavenger hunt and an appearance by Sirkus Dayz with hula hoops and a fire show.

A haunted bonfire will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Masonic Shelter. Wear a Halloween costume.

[naviga:h3]Halloween Hunt Oct. 24 downtown[/naviga:h3]

Butler Downtown will host a Halloween Hunt on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 24for children ages 2 to 10.

Children can dress up in their Halloween costumes and visit Main Street businesses marked as Halloween Hunt stops.

The event starts at The Art Center, where children can participate in a craft activity and receive a Halloween bag.

Registration is required and spots are limited. The cost is $5 per child.Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
