Joseph Charles Weber

Joseph Charles Weber, 88, of Sarver passed away at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday at VA Butler Healthcare in Butler.

Born Feb. 24, 1927, in Saxonburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Violet (Goepfert) Weber.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam and Korean wars, Joe was awarded the National Service Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He had an active 21 years of service.

Proud of his service, he was a member of the VFW, past post commander from 1972 to 1973 and the Butler County Council commander from 1980 to 1981. He also became a life member of the VFW Post 249 and District 25 commander from 1990 to 1991. He was a post commander 249 from 1993 to 1994. He was also a 50-year member of the Masonic Phoenix Lodge 75.

He worked 20 years at Armco Steel in Butler. He worked in Stainless, Plant 2. Joe retired in 1992 from Armco. Joe was a lifelong farmer and loved animals.

On Feb. 13, 1968, he married the former Le Thi Baa “Rose,” who survives. Also surviving are one son, Joseph Weber Jr. of Sarver; one daughter, Catherine Weber Huschitt of Castaic, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Brooke and Briana Huschitt of Castaic, Calif.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Helen Weber Miller and Esther Weber Widenhofer.

WEBER — Friends of Joseph Charles Weber, who died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, with the Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating.
