Shirley M. Phibbs, 80, of Karns City passed away Thursday at the Chicora Medical Center following an extended illness.

Shirley was born Aug. 31, 1935, in Pittsburgh.

She was the daughter of the late Henry Howard Phibbs and the late Jane S. Irwin Phibbs.

Shirley was a graduate of Hooker High School and had been employed at Nationwide Insurance for more than 40 years.

She attended the Concord Presbyterian Church.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Jane H. Phibbs of Karns City; a special cousin, Rebecca Murphy Brown and her husband, Timothy, of Ellwood City; and numerous other cousins.

PHIBBS — Friends of Shirley M. Phibbs, who died on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev. James Steiner, interim pastor of the Concord Presbyterian Church, officiating.
