Robert P. “Paul” Uber, 76, of West Sunbury passed away at 2:24 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Specialty Care in Mars following an extended illness.

Paul was born June 26, 1939, in Butler. He was the son of the late Perry L. Uber and the late Dorothy D. McCaslin Uber.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Rider Lutheran Church.

Paul retired from Armco, now A.K. Steel, with 41 years of service. He also drove school bus for 20 years and BART bus for 10 years.

He enjoyed participating in car cruises, playing cards and most importantly, spending time with his family.

Paul is survived by his wife, Katherine N. Borcz Uber, who he married Aug. 5, 1989; his children, Daniel Uber of Corsica, Donald (Colette) Uber of Butler, Bobbi Covert of East Butler, Joe P. Mehelich of Lyndora, Mechelle Richards of Butler and Renee (John) Keene of Chicora; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Joan (Dale) Hutchison of Butler, Marilyn Burrows of California and Carol (“Dadie”) Weir of Connecticut; one brother, Jack E. (Pat) Uber of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Sheila Uber.

UBER — Friends of Robert P. “Paul” Uber, who died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Cynthia Baxter, his pastor, officiating.
