Duane L. “Pete” Ludwick, 73, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, passed away Saturday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born May 5, 1942, in Baum, Pa., he was the son of the late Donald and Doris Swartzlander Ludwick.

Pete was a foreman at Carl Strutz and Company in Mars, where he had worked for 55 years and was planning to retire today.

He was a social member of the Mars VFW, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Himes Ludwick, who he married Sept. 14, 1978, in Butte, Mont.; his daughter, Vickie Kowalski and her husband, Bob, of Wexford; two grandchildren, Christy Kline and her husband, Troy, of Mars and Michael Mitchell and his wife, Candace, of Evans City; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob and Hailie Mitchell and Kyler and Khloe Kline.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Ludwick.
