Police: No problems at concert
TEMPE, Ariz. — An Arizona music festival was held without problems Sunday, a day after several people were injured when a crowd rushed a stage.
Tempe police said today the concert, which listed Kanye West as a performer, went off Sunday as planned without any serious incidents.
Tempe Police Sgt. Damon DeSpain said earlier Sunday the department worked with other emergency responders and the event promoter to prevent a repeat of Saturday night at the Summer Ends Music Festival.
Witnesses said a horde of revelers pushed toward the stage during a reggae performance, and some people got stomped or couldn’t breathe.
Nine people were taken to a nearby hospital after the incident.
