Laborer dies when hole collapses on him
PENN TWP — Emergency responders are expected to work into the evening to recover the body of a worker who died when a hole collapsed at the rear of Shelbourne Personal Care facility along Dinnerbell Road.
The chief deputy coroner has been called to the scene.
The call came in to the Butler County Communications Center about 2 p.m.
Sources at the scene said the dead man is a 21-year-old laborer from Clearfield County.
He had been working in a 12-foot-deep hole when the sides collapsed.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
