Grove City loses, 48-28
The Grove City College football team marched steadily forward on offense during the Wolverines’ 48-28 loss to St. Vincent College Saturday at home.
Grove City kept giving the Bearcats extra opportunities. While the Wolverines (0-3, 0-1) accrued 449 yards of total offense, St. Vincent cashed in on defense by returning a fumble and interception for touchdowns.
Matt Pennypacker turned in a big performance for Grove City. After coming off the bench, Pennypacker threw for 216 yards and two scores.
He also led the team in rushing with 76 yards.
The Bearcats went ahead for good when DJ Oceant-Kelly caught a 21-yard pass from Evan Shimesnky to put St. Vincent ahead 14-7 with 2 minutes, 17 seconds left in the first quarter.
Dwayne Brown added another touchdown a minute later when he returned a fumble 35 yards for a touchdown.
Brett Pinston scored two of the Wolverines’ touchdowns on receptions of 20 and 35 yards, respectively.
