Esther (Felton) Staples

Esther (Felton) Staples, 73, of Barksdale Air Force Base, La., passed away unexpectedly Aug. 15 in Bossier City, La.

Born May 5, 1942, in Salina, Pa., she was a daughter to the late Raymond C. and Evelyn Felton, and sister to Pauline (Tugga) Blackburn. Esther was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.

Esther is survived by her brother, Robert Felton of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five children, Belinda and Ron Ganster of Butler, Don Staples of Mt. Jackson, Pa., Evy and Chuck Oswick of Bossier City, La., Doug and Holly Staples of Front Royal, Va., and Amy Staples of New Brighton, Pa.

She has left eight grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Danielle, Alyssa, John, Maleah, Sydney and Oakley; and four great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Logan, Luke and Lillian, all of whom she loved very much.

Esther was a New Brighton High School graduate, Class of 1960, and she loved to roller skate at the old Rollerdrome in New Brighton, which competed in competitions back in her younger years. She also crocheted and loved to play bingo. If there is a bingo in heaven, you will find Esther playing alongside her mom, Evelyn, yelling BINGO!

STAPLES — The last wishes of Esther (Felton) Staples, who died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, were to be cremated and buried in Blairsville, Pa., with the rest of her family before her.Her family will have a celebration of Esther's life in Pennsylvania in the spring of 2016.
