Dolores A. “Lorrie” Downey

Dolores A. “Lorrie” Downey, 63, of Butler passed away Monday at her home.

Born Sept. 6, 1951, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Wright) Tanney.

Lorrie was a homemaker, an active associate member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler, and she enjoyed crocheting and going to camp in Westline, Pa.

Surviving are her children, Beth (Downey) Bogan and her husband, Tom, of Tijeras, N.M., Gregory Downey and his wife, Elizabeth, of Seven Valleys, Pa., and Kevin Downey of Missoula, Mont.; one grandson, Joseph Downey; four brothers and sisters, Thomas Tanney of Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, Virginia Russell of Pittsburgh, Elizabeth Bozicevich of Plum Boro, Allegheny County, and Timothy Tanney of Portersville; her former husband, Joseph Downey of Butler; and her companion, Larry Dickey of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Tanney, and her sister, Kathy Brown.

DOWNEY — Family and friends of Dolores A. “Lorrie” Downey, who died Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, are invited to gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
