Site preparation, including the demolition of this barn, is under way where the new VA Butler Healthcare facility will be built off North Duffy Road in Center Township. The $100 million, 218,000-square-foot center will be built on 46 acres previously owned by the Herold family about 1½ miles from the current VA facility on New Castle Road in Butler Township. The project is set to be finished by December 2017. Cambridge Healthcare Solutions of Virginia is building the facility and leasing it to the VA for 20 years.
