PROSPECT — A book signing of “The Life Story & Collected Works of Opal W. Fitzgerald,” by R.L. Palmer is planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Prospect Library, 357 Main St.

The book reveals life in the early 1900s in Fitzgerald's own words: the radio, automobile, influenza epidemic, World War I and the Great Depression.

An artist reception and candlelight vigil are planned for 7 to 9 p.m. Friday for the exhibit “The Monster Within,” an observance of domestic violence awareness, at The Art Center, 344 S. FRAZER TWP, Allegheny County — The total lunar eclipse can be viewed from about 7:10 p.m. until midnight Sunday at Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park near Russellton.Totality lasts from about 9:11 to 10:23 p.m. Mid-eclipse is at 9:47 p.m.Guests also will have the opportunity to observe Neptune and Uranus.The party will be held weather permitting.
