CRANBERRY TWP — A female driver was thrown from the driver-side window of a Jeep today in a two-vehicle accident on Freedom Road at the intersection of Haldeman Drive, according to Sgt. Chuck Mascellino of the township police department.

The Jeep was turning to go west on Freedom Road, he said. The vehicle that hit the Jeep also was going westbound and hit the Jeep on the left side, tossing the driver out at 11:52 a.m.

The Jeep driver was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, Mascellino said. He was not sure of her injuries, but she was conscious before the paramedics got to the scene.

The driver and the passenger of the other vehicle refused treatment on scene, he said.

The accident is under investigation.

Cranberry police, the Cranberry Volunteer Fire Company and Cranberry Township EMS were on scene.
