Fred O. Feitl

Fred O. Feitl, 81, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Feb. 14, 1934, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Ferdinand J. and Catherine Dangrow Feitl.

He was a retired auto mechanic, having worked for Hertz Rent-a-Car and as a truck mechanic for Giant Eagle. He also owned his own trucking company in Arizona.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Air Force.

Fred is survived by his wife, Shirley Wise Feitl, to whom he was married for 63 years; four sons, Donald Feitl of Arizona, David Feitl of Texas, Robert Feitl of Arizona and Charles Feitl of Boyers; and four daughters, Cheryl Cruz and her husband, Fermin, of Butler, Sharon Nowakowski and her husband, Dean, of Butler, Nancy McLean of Butler and Laurie Feitl-Sanford and her husband, Howard, of Arizona.

In addition, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive.

He was preceded in death by one son, Frederick Feitl and one great-grandson, Andrew Jr.
