Duane A. Patten

Duane A. Patten, 73, of Butler passed away Friday at UPMC-Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

He was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Butler to the late Paul Patten and Lillian (Snyder) Patten.

Mr. Patten was a lifelong farmer and worked for the Oakland Township Road Department for more than 40 years.

He was a member of the Springdale Lutheran Church. Mr. Patten enjoyed his classic cars, attending car shows, farming and hunting. You would often find him visiting with family, friends and neighbors and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Mr. Patten is survived by one son, Daryl Patten and his wife, Linda, of Butler; one daughter, Renee Campbell and her husband, Scott, of Carmel, Calif.; four grandchildren, Nick and Luke Patten and Kate and Nathan Campbell; two brothers, Keith Patten and his wife, Nancy, and Richard Patten and his wife, Effie, all of Butler; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley J. (Aggas) Patten, who he married Nov. 8, 1963, and who passed away on Sept. 19, 2003.

PATTEN — Friends of Duane A. Patten, who died Friday, August 14, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, with Robert Niggel, brother-in-law of the deceased, officiating. Burial will take place at the Concord Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, PA 16061.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
