ERIE — Butler graduate Rachel Weyand and Seneca Valley grad Colton Smith have been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Soccer Athletes of the Week for their exploits with Penn State Behrend.

Weyand was named AMCC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The sophomore was named MVP of the Blue Devil Classic in Fredonia, scoring the game-winning goal against Fredonia, then assisting on the game-winner against Oswego State.

Smith, a sophomore goalkeeper on the men's team, was named Defensive Player of the Week after making 11 saves in two games, helping the Lions win the Blue Devil Classic with a 1-0-1 record.

IRVING, Texas — The Cowboys have made their first move to try to fill in for Dez Bryant while the All-Pro receiver is sidelined with a broken right foot.Dallas acquired receiver Brice Butler from Oakland on Tuesday for a conditional fifth-round pick in next year's draft, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal hasn't been announced.Bryant, who led the NFL with 16 touchdown receptions last year, is expected to miss at least a month, and owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday on his radio show that the bone could take six weeks to heal fully. Bryant had surgery Monday night.

PHILADELPHIA — Former Philadelphia Flyers left wing Simon Gagne retired on Tuesday after a 14-year career in the NHL.Gagne was a four-time All-Star who scored 291 goals and had 310 assists for 601 points. He played 11 seasons with the Flyers, won a Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and also played for Tampa Bay and Boston.Gagne ranks ninth on the Flyers' all-time list in goals (264) and 10th in points (535) and games played (691).

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Two former Rutgers football players have been accused of stealing cash and marijuana from another student in a dorm room.The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office announced the charges Tuesday, saying the robbery was in December.Lloyd Terry was dismissed from the team last week after being arrested and accused of a role in an April home invasion robbery. Jamil Pollard, who was on the football roster last year, was arrested Monday in Camden on the alleged dorm room robbery.
