Dolores “Dode” Barclay Pizor, 81, of Butler died Friday after a three-year courageous struggle with aggressive breast cancer.

Dode was born April 4, 1934, in Vandergrift, the daughter of the late Clyde Ralph and

Gladys (Miller) Barclay.

Dode was a lover of people, a fierce advocate for those who are intellectually challenged, a past president of Butler ARC, and a Past Worthy Matron and District Deputy of The Order of the Eastern Star 45.

She was a caregiver to all who knew her, often offering delicious meals, cards and telephone conversations.

Her laughter was contagious. Her glass was always half-full.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Butler. She gave her life away freely in the service of others. She held offices in the Town and Country Garden Club, the Butler Hospital Auxiliary and Butler ARC.

She was active in Junior Woman's Club and Meals on Wheels and was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader.

She is survived by her husband, John “Jack” of 59 years, and her three adult children: Bill of Dade City, Fla., and his wife Cindi Loren, Sue of Emmaus, Pa., and her husband Bob Yoder, and David, who lives with his parents in Butler.

She was a wonderful grandmother to her five grandchildren: Alysha and her husband Sean, Derek, Katelyn, Jonathon and Veronica.

She also is survived by her niece Gloria and her husband, Curt Vollart.

PIZOR — Friends of Dolores “Dode” Barclay Pizor, who died Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler.An Order of the Eastern Star service will be at 6:45 p.m. Monday.Private burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Butler Meals on Wheels, 218 E. Jefferson St., Butler, and Special Olympics of Butler County, P.O. Box 2561, Butler, PA 16003.
