CRANBERRY TWP — Carl Robertson, independent historian of the Providence Plantation Foundation, will give a presentation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, on George Washington’s travel in this area. He will offer maps, documents and digital images.

EVANS CITY — The Evans City Public Library will give away items from the library’s used book room from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday during Evans City’s Octoberfest.
The library also will host a quilt show.
[naviga:h3]Hospital sets diabetes workshop[/naviga:h3]
Butler Health System’s Diabetes and Health Management department will offer a workshop for individuals who are glucose intolerant or have prediabetes.
The workshop will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at Phillips Hall on the third floor of Butler Memorial Hospital, 1 Hospital Way.
The deadline for registration is Sept. 22.

WEST SUNBURY — The American Legion, 1431 West Sunbury Road, will host a third annual pig roast organized by the Friends of the North Trails Public Library from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 3.
In addition to food, the event will have games for children and adults, door prizes and a basket raffle.
All proceeds of the event will support the North Trails Public Library.
Tickets are available at the North Trails Public Library, 1553 West Sunbury Road. Children younger than 5 eat for free.

Seniors for Safe Driving will host the following classes for those age 55 and older:
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 5, Grove City Alliance Church, Grove City
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 16, Butler Memorial Hospital
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19 and 20, Passavant Retirement Community
5:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 20 and 21, Kelly Chevrolet, Butler
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 21, Concordia, Haven II, Cabot.
Seniors completing the course will receive a 5 percent reduction in their automobile insurance premiums for three years.
