Grace E. Miller

Grace E. Miller, 84, of Butler passed away at 2:40 a.m. Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born March 26, 1931, in Butler to the late Herbert Randall Doutt and Dorothy Mae (Beal) Doutt.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church. She worked at King's Jewelry, Sam's Club demo and also as a self-employed painter with her three sisters for 30 years.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the 500 Card Club, the Meridian VFC Auxiliary and the Meridian Girl Scouts. She also belonged to the Meridian Woodpeckers Fife and Drum Corps, the Moraine Flying Club and the Butler Farm Show.

Mrs. Miller was a private pilot and enjoyed sewing and knitting.

Mrs. Miller is survived by one daughter, Diana C. Braun and her husband, David C., of Butler; one granddaughter, Kelly (Brandon) Blechertas and her husband, David C., of York, Pa.; John “Jack” Brandon, Kelly's father of Butler; one great grandchild, Jason Brandon Blechertas; one brother, John R. Doutt and his wife, Pat, of Butler; one brother-in-law, Robert Laughner of Butler; two sisters, Sara Cochan of Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., and Susan Smith of Butler; one sister-in-law, Shirley Miller of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Charles Miller, who she married on July 27, 1951, and who passed away on Sept. 20, 1987; and also by one sister, Lois Laughner.

MILLER — Friends Grace E. Miller, who died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Franklin, pastor of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
