OAKLAND TWP — A car crashed into a house on Chicora Road early this morning.

Chief Jeff Stoner with the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department said the car hit an enclosed front porch addition to the home in the 300 block just after 1 a.m.

“It went up over a hill and hit the corner of the closed-in addition,” he said. “It took out the whole corner.”

Stoner said the vehicle then crashed down an embankment. The unidentified driver reportedly suffered minor injuries and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Stoner said the home was occupied at the time but no one inside was injured.

State police were at the scene but did not have a report available this morning.

Stoner said the fire department was on scene for more than an hour to help the homeowner cover the damage with a tarp.

“He wanted to get it covered because the rain was coming,” Stoner said
