5 face charges after alleged break-in

Police say argument leads to early morning incident

LANCASTER TWP — Five people were arrested after allegedly breaking into the house of a friend’s former boyfriend early Tuesday morning.

Ryan Patrick Stockman, 20, of Harmony, Andrew James Woods, 19, of Harrisville, Joseph Thomas Anderson, 19, of Harmony, Koltan Wayne Cahall, 20, of Harmony and Heather Lynn Krapp, 25, of Zelienople were arrested by state police on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, criminal mischief and conspiracy after entering Joseph Lee Holland’s township residence.

The incident stemmed from an argument that took place earlier.

Sometime during the Labor Day weekend, a clash took place between Anderson, Krapp, Holland and Leah Michelle Crawford, unknown address, over custody of a 2-year-old son belonging to Anderson and Crawford. Anderson and Crawford had previously dated, and their relationship ended about a year and a half ago, according to a criminal complaint.

Sometime after Anderson and Crawford ended their relationship, Anderson became friends with Krapp, who had previously been in a relationship with Holland. Holland became upset that his former friend Anderson had been socializing with Krapp, and Holland began to socialize with Crawford.

At some point on Monday, according to the complaint, Anderson received a picture message on his cell phone from Crawford’s phone. The picture was of Crawford, Holland and the 2-year-old boy. This picture upset Anderson to the point he wanted to act on it, according to the complaint.

“He basically came unglued,” said state police Trooper Gregory Bogan.

During the late evening hours on Monday, Anderson, Cahall, Woods, and Krapp were all at Krapp’s residence in Zelienople.

At about 10 p.m., Anderson allegedly called Holland saying he was going to beat him up. Following this, Anderson, Cahall, Woods and Krapp planned to go to Holland’s residence. Before going to Holland’s, Anderson contacted his cousin, Stockman, and picked him up.

After that, Anderson, Stockman, Cahall, Woods and Krapp went to the area of Holland’s residence.

When they got to Holland’s at about 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to the complaint, Anderson, Cahall, Woods and Stockman forced the door open and entered. Once inside, they went to Holland’s bedroom looking for him. When they did not find him, Anderson asked Holland’s roommate, where he was. The roommate replied, “He’s around.”

Anderson, Cahall, Woods, Stockman and Krapp then left the area. Anderson dropped Stockman off at Stockman’s residence. Krapp, Cahall, Woods and Holland returned to Krapp’s apartment in Zelienople, where they later were arrested by state police.

During interviews, Krapp, Woods, Anderson and Cahall all admitted to their involvement in this incident, according to the complaint. Additionally, Stockman was identified as the fourth actor who entered the residence and that Krapp did not enter.

Although Krapp did not go into the house, she is charged because of her involvement in the planning, Bogan said.

Two other friends who were present seemingly only followed along to watch and stayed near their vehicle, the complaint said. Bogan said it is unlikely they will be charged.

Stockman was arrested later on Tuesday.

Bogan said Crawford was not involved in the crime or planning and would not be charged.

As of Thursday morning, Krapp, Anderson and Woods were no longer in the Butler County Prison, while Cahall and Stockman still were in on bail of $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.
