30th Annual Festival of arts gears up in Saxonburg

SAXONBURG — The 30th annual Saxonburg Festival of the Arts takes place Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend will feature fine arts, photography, a quilt show, music, crafts and food.

Activities from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5:30 p.m. Sunday include:

• Craft and food booths, in Roebling Park and Cooper Hall and along Main Street

• Fine art, photography and ikebana exhibits, Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church hall's lower level, Main and Rebecca streets. Tom Sheehan and Mark Anderson will demonstrate their fine art techniques.

• Antique tractors and gas engines, across North Rebecca Street from Roebling Park

• Quilt Show, St. Luke's Lutheran Church's Centennial Hall, State Street

• 78th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Company F, Civil War Re-Enactment Group, across North Rebecca Street from Roebling Park

Rodfathers of Butler will have a car cruise Saturday in the First Commonwealth Bank and Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church parking lots.

A used book sale hosted by Friends of the Library will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in a tent on the library grounds.

Christy Culp demonstrates pottery at last year's Saxonburg Festival of the Arts. This year's annual festival will take place Saturday and Sunday around downtown Saxonburg and in Roebling Park.
