Verna A. McKain, 85, of Butler passed away at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at her home.

Verna was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Costen E. Meals and the late Erma T. Hilgar Meals.

She was a homemaker and a member of the North Main Street Church of God.

Verna is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Shawn) Kiser of Butler; two sons, Richard (Lena) McKain Jr. of Butler and Brian (Linda) McKain of West Sunbury; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. McKain Sr., who died in 1996; two sisters; and one brother.

MCKAIN — The family of Verna A. McKain, who died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon Powell, her minister, officiating.
