CRANBERRY TWP — The Autism Society of Butler County, in cooperation with the Autism Society of Pittsburgh, will host “The Family Next Door” at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Cranberry Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road.
This feature-length documentary film presents a suburban Pittsburgh family's day-to-day experience with two sons who have autism.
Admission is free, and donations will be accepted.

ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., is taking reservations for the fourth annual “Book the Night” benefit from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24.The evening at the library will feature a silent auction. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) PA Butler will offer the NAMI Family-to-Family education program from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Wednesday at the Mental Health Association, 140 N. Elm St., Butler.The free educational program will have 12 sessions designed for family, partners, friends and significant others of adults living with mental illness.The sessions will help them understand and support their loved one living with mental illness, while maintaining their own well being.The program's teachers have experience living with mentally ill loved ones.To register, call Joyce at 724-794-1757 or Kathy at 724-431-0069.
SAXONBURG — A quilt show will anchor Saxonburg Festival of the Arts activities at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Sept. 12 and 13. St. Luke's and the Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host the event.More than 40 quilts will be displayed during the two-day festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 12 and noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 13.Quilts and crafters will be on both floors of St. Luke's Centennial Hall and in the Hattie Cooper Room at 110 State St.There will be quilting and sewing vendors, local crafters with fall and holiday items and gifts for sale and auction baskets.Food will be available in the church fellowship hall.For more information, call the church office at 724-352-2333.
