Elizabeth M. Kearns
Elizabeth M. Kearns, 89, of Churchill, Allegheny County, passed away July 25.
She was born May 25, 1926, in Zanesville, Ohio, to John and Josephine Deasy Eddy, but she was raised in Pittsburgh by her aunt Martha Deasy and George C. Lee.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard M. Kearns; her brother, Edward Eddy; and three of her children, Elizabeth, Thomas and Kathryn.
She is survived by her loving children, Maureen Smallwood and Timothy and Edward Kearns; her sister Nancy Lee Lescisin; four grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Betty lived in many areas including Zelienople, Norman, Okla., and St. Petersburg, Fla., in addition to Pittsburgh.
Betty loved anything Irish, and she enjoyed skillfully crafting wreaths and flower arrangements.
When she was younger, she worked at Koppers in Pittsburgh, then as a nanny much later in life.
She was a Roman Catholic.
KEARNS — Friends of Elizabeth M. Kearns, who died Saturday, July 25, 2015, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the William F. Gross Funeral Home, 11735 Frankstown Road at Rodi Road, Penn Hills.Funeral prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday and a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at the St. Coleman Church.
