William E. Rodgers

William E. “Bill” Rodgers, of Sharon passed away Thursday in his home following a brief illness. He was 63.

Bill was born Jan. 13, 1952, in Queenstown, Pa., to Arthur and Margaret Hickey Rodgers.

He attended Karns City High School and worked a number of jobs before retiring from Charlie's Specialties of Hermitage in 2011 after 25 years of service.

Bill enjoyed puzzles and was a talented woodworker. He also enjoyed working and being outdoors and rooting for the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra “Sandy” Beabout, whom he married July 1, 1972.

He is also survived by one brother, Ron Rodgers; two sisters-in-law, Janet Perrine and her husband James and Nancy Wilson and her husband Kenneth; a brother-in-law, Russell “Skip” Beabout and his wife Janet; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his dog Bo, who was his best friend and loving companion.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Rodgers; three sisters, Jean Early, Eileen McClaine and Betty Kolich; a brother-in-law, Richard Beabout; two nieces; and former pet companions Hicky, Oscar and Cookie.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 321 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 16205-4620 or Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 1599 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.

RODGERS — Family and friends of William E. “Bill” Rodgers, who died on Thursday, July 23, 2015, may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 1090 E. State St., Sharon.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel, St. Mary's Cemetery Road, East Brady, with the Rev. John Butler, St. Patrick Parish, officiating. Everyone is asked to go directly to the chapel.Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brady.Arrangements by the J.
