G. Roy Kennedy
G. Roy Kennedy, 76, of Saxonburg, passed away Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Born July 6, 1939, in Butler, he was the son of Thomas Guy Kennedy Sr. and Twila Kathryn Lauster Kennedy.
Roy served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1960.
He worked as a boilermaker for Local 154 and also for Concordia Lutheran Services as a farm manager. He was a member of Jefferson Center United Presbyterian Church and Saxonburg District Sportsmen's Association. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ann Shorts Kennedy, who he married Oct. 14, 1961; his son, Jeffrey A. (Diane) Kennedy of Butler; two daughters, Tracy Leigh Lassinger of Bakerstown and Dawn Renee Lusk (Scott Reesman) of Saxonburg; two brothers, Clair Eugene “Gene” (Kathy) Kennedy of Butler and Phillip C. (Janine) Kennedy of Butler; two sisters, Susan (Ken) Weitzel of Butler and Carol (Gerald) Chesin of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas G. Kennedy Jr.
KENNEDY — Friends of G. Roy Kennedy, who died Thursday, July 23, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
