Skye Melzer
Skye “Skylar Stardust” N. Melzer, 21, of Slippery Rock passed away July 6 in Reno, Nev., as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Born Dec. 7, 1993, in Ridgway, Pa., she was the daughter of Rudolph T. Melzer and the late Colleen (Darnell) Melzer.
She was a self-employed artist, creating her own fashions and selling them. She participated in the art shows at the Butler Art Center. She was a fire spinner and a tattoo artist, who enjoyed traveling.
She lived in Belize for a year. She would travel back in winters when she had the opportunity. Living there was a big part of her life.
She enjoyed traveling through Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua in her bare feet. She touched a lot of lives with her energetic personality.
Surviving are her father, Rudolph T. Melzer of Slippery Rock; stepmother, Mary (Homison) Melzer of Slippery Rock; one brother, Forrest (Alaina) Melzer of Harrisville; two stepbrothers, Javen and Sawyer; one nephew, Mason Melzer; and a niece, Willow Melzer.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
MELZER — Friends of Skye “Skylar Stardust” N. Melzer, who passed away July 6, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Geibel Funeral Home. 201 E. Cunningham St., in Butler.A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rudolph Melzer, minister, officiating.
