COQUITLAM, British Columbia — Lydia Ko won the Canadian Pacific Women's Open for the third time and first as a professional, beating Stacy Lewis with a par on the first hole of a playoff.

The 18-year-old Ko finished with an even-par 72 to match Lewis at 12-under 276 at Vancouver Golf Club. Lewis, also a playoff loser this year in the ANA Inspiration, had a 67.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Veteran defenseman Christian Ehrhoff has agreed to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Kings.The club confirmed the signing Sunday without disclosing financial terms.Ehrhoff scored 14 points in 49 games for Pittsburgh last season before missing the final 33 games and the postseason due to injuries, including a concussion.The 33-year-old German is an 11-year NHL veteran who also played for San Jose, Vancouver and Buffalo. He has 327 points in 741 career games.He will be a welcome addition to Kings' depleted defense after Robyn Regehr retired and Andrej Sekera signed with Edmonton earlier this summer.

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. — SMU senior Bryson DeChambeau won the U.S. Amateur on Sunday to become the fifth player to win the tournament and NCAA individual title in the same year.DeChambeau, from Clovis, California, beat Virginia junior Derek Bard of New Hartford, New York, 7 and 6 in the 36-hole final at Olympia Fields.Jack Nicklaus (1961), Phil Mickelson (1990), Tiger Woods (1996) and Ryan Moore (2004) are the only other players to sweep the NCAA and Amateur titles in a season.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones apologized to the San Francisco 49ers for his concerns and criticism of the Levi’s Stadium grass leading up to Sunday night’s preseason game.Jones, speaking outside Dallas locker room after a 23-6 loss, said he should have inspected the sod himself before speaking out on the radio Friday. Coach Jason Garrett also expressed concerns.
