Lawrence J. “Larry” McFeely, 68, of Cherry Township passed away early Tuesday in his home following a brief illness.

Known to most as Larry, he was born on July 14, 1947, in Grove City to William J. (III) and Martha Dee Uselton McFeely. During his younger years, his family lived in the Slippery Rock area and then relocated to the Clintonville area.

Larry was in the last graduating class from Victory High School in 1965. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in Germany from August 1966 to August 1968.

He recently retired from Slippery Rock University where he was a supervisor in facilities management.

Larry was an avid golfer. He loved to dance and spend time with his companion, Kim, and their dog, Shasta. He was a true friend and loved by all.

Survivors include his companion, Kimberly Noble at home; two sons, Matthew L. McFeely and his wife, Michelle, and Mitchell R. McFeely, all of Grove City; two granddaughters, Kaelin and Lauren McFeely, both of Grove City; one sister, Sandra J. Fleming and her husband, Jeffrey, of Foxburg; one brother, Daniel P. McFeely and his wife, Kristine, of Harrisville; one sister-in-law, Sally L. McFeely of Grove City; and Kim's daughter, Jessi Morrow Daschner and her husband, Marcus, of Nashville, Tenn., who was like one of his own children. Also surviving are one niece and four nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; one brother, Steven P. McFeely; a nephew, Kyle S. McFeely; and Kim's son, Casey Morrow.

MCFEELY — The family of Lawrence J. “Larry” McFeely, who died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Father Michael Allison of The Church of The Beloved Disciple as celebrant.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Larry's memory to the North Butler County Feed My Sheep Food Cupboard, 320 N. Main St., Slippery Rock, PA 16057 or the Grove City Community Food Pantry, 114 S. Center St., Grove City, PA 16127.
