Snider back with Bucs
The Pirates intend to sign free-agent outfielder Travis Snider to a minor league contract, manager Clint Hurdle said today, thus bringing back the fourth outfielder they traded away prior to this season.
The Baltimore Orioles had designated Snider for assignment, and released him on Sunday.
Snider hit .264 with a .338 on-base percentage and 13 home runs in 2014 for the Pirates. He played particularly well in the second half, hitting .288/.356/.524 with nine home runs.
Snider will report to Class AAA Indianapolis.
