Moraine State Park, Muddy Creek Township, will host an advanced paddling workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. A full moon paddle is planned for 7:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 29. Reservations are required; call 724 368-8811. On Sunday, a program on “Venomous Snakes of Pa.” is planned for 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Moraine Outdoor Center on the North Shore.

Nautical Nature, a 37-passenger enclosed pontoon boat at Moraine State Park, has trips on Lake Arthur. Cost is $35 for two people, $60 for a family of four. Reservations are required. Call 724-368-9185 or visit www.morainepreservationfund.org.

Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, hosts “Honey Heroes” at 2 p.m. Sept. 20; no registration is required. “Wild Spirit” live animal program presented by TASOW and Skye's Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will take place at 2 p.m. Aug. 29. “An Introduction to Archery” will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 13; registration is required. National Public Lands Day, a volunteer event, will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 26, and registration is required. Star parties sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh are scheduled to begin, weather permitting, at about 8:10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park near Russellton. Call 724-224-2510.McConnells Mill State Park, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, off Route 422, has the gristmill open through September from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
